Is 8 zones enough for my home?

For most standard 3-4 bedroom homes, 8 zones provides excellent coverage. You can typically protect all main entry doors, key windows, and add motion detection in main living areas. Larger properties may benefit from the 16-zone D16XD model.

Can I install this myself?

If you have basic electrical knowledge and are comfortable working with low-voltage wiring, DIY installation is possible. The kit includes detailed instructions. However, we recommend professional installation for optimal performance and to ensure compliance with local regulations.

What's included in the siren kit?

The kit includes components for both internal and external alarm sirens, providing comprehensive audio alerts. The loud siren acts as both a deterrent and notification system when the alarm is triggered.

Is this compatible with my existing Ness sensors?

Yes! The D8XD is backward compatible with existing Ness D-Series sensors, contacts, and detectors. This makes it perfect for upgrading older Ness systems without replacing all your existing hardware.

Does it work during power outages?

When equipped with a backup battery (available separately), the D8XD continues operating during power failures, ensuring your home remains protected 24/7.

Can I add more zones later?

The D8XD supports up to 8 zones. If you need more zones in the future, you can upgrade to the Ness D16XD (16-zone) system, which is also backward compatible with your existing sensors.

What's the difference between D8XD and D8XCEL?

The D8XD is the standard model with LCD keypad, while the D8XCEL includes 4G communication capability for remote monitoring and smartphone alerts. Both offer the same 8-zone protection.

Do I need a monitoring service?

No, monitoring is optional. The D8XD works as a standalone alarm system with local siren alerts. You can add professional monitoring services if desired, or upgrade to the D8XCEL model for self-monitoring via smartphone.
